Young Voters for Obama - Is he all they think he is?

Stumble it!
I found this article online. It is written by Bradley Fouts.
It’s really sad to me how many people in my age bracket are so ignorant when it comes to their politics. Young college kids seem to always have the answer for everything. This can’t be further from the truth. I will be the first to tell you I certainly have a lot to learn about life, and I’m about as independent from my parents as a five year old. I live in a dorm, I have a meal plan, and I depend on my parents for 100% of all of my finances. However, I like to think I can at least have a concept of the big picture when I am on my own.
The democratic candidates this election year are depending so much on the young vote. This is predominantly because young people are ignorant enough to vote for them. Young people see Hillary and Barack as inspirations of change. Young people are intrigued by the fact that one’s black and one’s a women. Young people are inspired because these deceitful candidates of the Democratic Party promise change and preach so articulately with messages like “yes we can!” What my fellow younglings don’t realize is these false hopes are primarily targeted for the weak, young and ignorant. These candidates depend on the votes of the fearful; the Americans that cannot fend for themselves but instead look to a large government to give them handouts and rescue them from their self inflicted living situations. Regardless of Democrat or Republican, there is only so much change a candidate can do. They may mean well, but the fact is their term is limited and they have this thing called the Congress and Senate and judges, lawyers, and lobbyist, that first have to approve of the “changes” and as we all know it’s the tradition of Washington to do nothing. Historically if you look at American government you will see that the only time the government works together in an immediate change is a time of crises. They worked with FDR during the depression to get a “New Deal” they worked with Ronald Reagan to fund military spending to end the cold war. They supported George H.W Bush during the Gulf War, they passed countless legislation after September 11, 2001 to insure that George W. Bush can effectively deter future attacks, and most recently the government has come together to try to end this temporary failing economy.
My point is that other than these handful of evens, Congress is more concerned with making money thru their connections and getting re-elected. If you look at the Democratic candidates you can even see this difference. Hillary is not the candidate you see promoting all this change. Yes, she has her issues she wants passed and accomplished during her administration, however, she is not the candidate promising she will completely change Washington. There is a simple reason for this. Hillary Clinton has had decades of experience, she knows there is only so much one president can do during their tenure. Hillary Clinton and John Mccain know by their vast experience that even though positive change can be made, it’s just not prudent to make promises that quite frankly are dead in the water before their even inaugurated. There is a candidate that is promising to change Washington and his name is Barrack Hussein Obama (and yes, that’s his real name, look it up). With his articulate and powerful speeches he can persuade every weak, ignorant and young person that he is the messiah of Washington. I really do think in Barack’s mind he really can make these changes he talks about. He doesn’t know any better. He has been in the senate for four years, thats it. This man has never ran a government or made any change at all during his term as junior Illinois senator. He has done nothing in the senate except use it as a platform for his presidency bid. If he wants to change Washington so bad, why didn’t he make even the smallest effort during his senate term. I’m asking that people our age (or any age, for that matter) just take a step back and think of things before you make up your mind about supporting this man. There has never been a president in the last 100 years that has had less political experience than Barack Obama. I’m not saying vote republican, I’m saying vote for someone who knows what their doing - even Hillary Clinton. Even though I do not personally support Hillary, she has even called Barack “naive” in many of her speeches and debates. Out of all the candidates he is by far the most inspiration, articulate and a speaker like none other. But we must look at the big picture. His lack of experience and naïve approaches to government policy is destructive to this great nation. So in conclusion put his charm and appeal aside and read his record, know what he supports and come to reality that this is not what America needs. America does not need a cheerleader, American needs an experienced leader that knows how things operate and can yes, make change, but not tamper with a fragile and self governing body.

Actually, there have been several Presidents with less experience. Geo. W. Bush had 6 years as Texas Governor.
Obama has had 8 years as an Illinois Senator and 4 years as a U.S. Senator. Unless my math is wrong, that is double that of Geo. W. Bush and more than Hillary’s 8 years total. I DON’T WANT A WASHINGTON INSIDER in office. I am tired of the lobbyists and the money-grabbers. I am also tired of people who keep suggesting that Senator Obama’s middle name brands him as something that he is not. Please, lets all support our candidates, but not at the expense of other candidates.
Here is the thing: 6 years as Governor is better than 10 years of Senator. Though I am not saying George W. Bush was that great of a president. But he tried to do what he truly thought was best. I am afraid that Obama will do the same thing, and totally mess things up.
I agree that his middle name does not make him a Muslim, or anything else, and we have never said that. Our job here at True Obama Facts is to report the facts, not the stupid things like that.
If you don’t want a Washington insider in office, what is Obama?
What has he done that makes you want to vote for him? Or is it simply what he HAS NOT done?
President George W. Bush was an inexperienced man who got in a job that was “over his head” when 9/11 hit. He did his best but he made some “freshman mistakes” . One was named Rumsfeld. Perfect hindsight tells us the Republican primary voters made a “freshman mistake” when they selected George Bush as their candidate over more experienced choices.
President Bush had no military experience. On inaugural day, without any military training, he became the Commander in Chief. When the first enemy attack on the U.S. mainland occurred we were at war with an elusive Al Queida enemy and an inexperienced Commander in Chief as leader.
President Bush had very little experience in Washington. All good “fix-it-men” know you should fully understand anything you are about to fix. Make sure you are qualified for the task at hand. President Bush had the most powerful position in Washington without “paying his dues” in Washington. It makes it all the tougher to gain the respect and work with 20-year Washington veterans.
In the business world you don’t rise to be CEO of large corporations without lot’s of experience. Why should it be different with political leaders? The reason; they trick us. We naively believe the rhetoric and promises. Their “views” are formulated more on what will get them elected. Their goal is to attain that prestigious President position more than helping their country.
If it were even possible for any one man to “change Washington” it would be most difficult for a “Washington outsider”. President Bush was a Washington outsider.
Hypothetically, you are sick and your only hope is an innovative new medical procedure. Who would you turn to? Perhaps a promising young medical student—a medical establishment “outsider”? Or would you would choose a “medical insider” who has lots of doctor contacts. They know and understand medicine. They have experience working through the medical “system”. They would be a “known quantity” and have already proven their competence. And they would be a thinker—a medical “maverick” who does not always go along with “the establishment”.
I say eight years of an inexperienced Commander in Chief are too much. Eight years of an inexperienced Washington outsider are too much. Let’s go a different route—not only in this election nor any in the future. Inexperience “is what it is” whether it comes in the form of a Republican, a Democrat, a Libertarian, or an Independent.
And now we have (an unknown quantity) and a very inexperienced Presidential candidate saying “lets not have four more years of George Bush.” Does he know what he is saying? Does he think that being of a different political party makes him immune from the ills of inexperience? Would he be any less “over his head” as our nation’s Commander in Chief? Would he know any better than President Bush how to get things done in Washington?
To define and judge a man not by his character, his service and experience , his voting record, but rather by someone else in his party is as detestable as saying someone should not be President because of the color of his skin. Lincoln and Reagan, Roosevelt and Kennedy were great but both political parties have the other end of the spectrum. Let’s not promote prejudice. Let’s not judge a good man by the color of his party logo.
Senator McCain had less choice in choosing President Bush as his party’s nomination and our country’s President than Senator Obama had to do with choosing his flavor of church.
