The practiced ease with which Obama glibly tells untruths is becoming more noticeable as the campaign rolls along.
This latest was in an interview scheduled to be aired today on the popular daytime show “The View.” Obama, after saying that if Wright had not resigned he would have left the church he attended for 20 years, blithely gave an explanation why:
“Had the reverend not retired, and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws, then I wouldn’t have felt comfortable staying at the church,” Obama said Thursday during a taping of the ABC talk show, “The View.” The interview will be broadcast Friday.
Oh really? Did Wright actually “acknowledge” that he had offended people and his remarks were “inappropriate?”
So, when did Wright acknowledge that what he had said was deeply offensive and inappropriate? The AP story recounts some of Wright’s controversial comments but oddly omits to mention his apology, as does all other news coverage with which I am familiar.
And I am strangely certain that a Wright apology would have made the news - unless he never made it publicly. So what are we supposed to believe - that Wright apologized to Obama, who is now apologizing to the rest of us on Wright’s behalf? For heaven’s sake, this really does show that Obama is made of Presidential stuff - maybe he can do an Apology Tour, just as Bill Clinton did.
This is a kind of self serving lie that advances Obama’s narrative of Wright really not being a bad sort of fellow, just a little exciteable due to the racism he experienced as a young man. But it is a falsehood to say that Wright has ever apologized or regretted his remarks and certainly he has never let it be known that he considered them “inappropriate.”
One might also ask why it took Obama 20 years of listening to this hateful rhetoric to even consider leaving the Church. It couldn’t be because he’s running for president now, could it?
UPDATE:
Ed Lasky points to this article by Jennifer Rubin in Commentary Magazine that also deals with more lies from Obama about Wright:
Sphere: Related ContentWith each new utterance on the topic of Reverend Wright, Barack Obama seems to confirm his own moral obliviousness. Worse yet, he seems to have disdain for those who are troubled by his own unwillingness, even now, to break with Wright. (Contrary to his liberal apologists who insist “leaving a church is never a simple transaction,” it is exceedingly easy–you just stand up and go.)
The latest: “I never heard him say some of the things that have people upset.” Let’s leave aside for a moment the Clintonian slipperiness of the word “some.” Let’s not dwell on the quite obvious possibility that he might have heard or read comments of Wright’s approximating those on the dozens of tapes that have now come to light. Here’s the meat of it: just “people” are upset–not him mind you, since he is operating on a higher moral plane. I suppose he would have defended Trent Lott’s single remark about Strom Thurmond with every fiber of his being.
But it gets worse. Obama insists Wright is “a brilliant man who was still stuck in a time warp.” So brilliant, apparently, that he has uncovered the plot by white America to kill African Americans and so insightful as to perceive the 9/11 attacks as caused by America’s own terrorism.

33 Senators Voted Against English as America ’s Official Language on June 6, 2007.
On Wed. 6 June 2007 Colonel Harry Riley, USA, Ret., wrote:
Senators:
Your vote against an amendment to the immigration Bill 1348……to make English America’s official language is astounding. On D-Day, no less, when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock, character and principles of America , I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.
I don’t much care where you come from. What your religion is. Whether you’re black, white, or some other color……male or female……Democrat, Republican or Independent……. But I do care when you are a United States Senator representing Citizens of America ….and vote against English as the official language of the United States .
Your vote reflects Betrayal. Political Surrender. Violates Your Pledge of Allegiance. Dishonors historical principle. Rejects Patriotism. Borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator…impeachment… Recall……..Or other appropriate action is warranted or worse.
Four of you voting against English as America ’s Official Language are Presidential Candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd and Senator Obama.
Four Senators vying to lead America , but won’t or don’t have the courage to cast a vote in favor of “English” as America ’s Official Language when 91% of American Citizens want English officially designated as our language.
This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as “political Hacks”…… Unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualified to serve as President of the United States .
If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a backlash so stunning it will literally “rock you out of your panties”……… And preferably totally out of the United States Senate.
The entire immigration bill is a farce… Your action only confirms this really isn’t about America …..it is about self-serving politics……despicable at best. It has been said: “Never Argue with an Idiot….They’ll drag you down to their level!

From American ThinkerMessiah: “One who is anticipated as, regarded as, or professes to be a savior or liberator.” American Heritage Dictionary
Schtick: “Yiddish slang meaning “gimmick” that has come to mean “someone’s signature behavior.”
He presents as a fairly nice-looking guy with a slightly dorky quality (I think it’s the Bing Crosby ears); who is a smooth, albeit soporific, speaker; who boasts an Ivy League background sullied by the suspicion that he benefited as much from affirmative action as from his own virtues; and who demonstrates a sound grasp of shady Chicago style politics, including, during a remarkably short and generally undistinguished career, some pretty vicious and opportunistic conduct. I am talking, of course, about Barack Obama, a man who has shot from relative obscurity to the forefront of American politics.
To those who worship at his shrine, though, there is nothing ordinary about him. To them, he is the embodiment of all virtues. If you are doodling around with Google and type in the phrase “Obama articulate,” you’ll get about 277,000 results. It’s even more fun to type in “Obama handsome.” Then you get about 330,000 results.
That’s just word play, though. The real fawning comes in the way people describe their emotional reactions to this former unknown from Illinois. Take the example of Chris Matthews, an MSNBC talking head whom one might naively credit with a little bit of professional objectivity. After hearing one of Obama’s speeches, Matthews giddily said “My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don’t have that too often.” One is afraid to ask what other experiences have occasioned Matthews’ exciting little leg vibration.
And then there’s the fainting: At speech after speech, it seems, ladies swoon merely Continue Reading »

From American Thinker:“The anger is real. It is powerful, and to simply wish it away, to condemn it without understanding its roots, only serves to widen the chasm of misunderstanding that exists between the races.”
- Barack Obama
Back in the late 1980s I was on a plane flying out of New Orleans and sitting next to me was a rather interesting and, according to Barack Obama, unusual black man. Friendly, gregarious, and wise beyond his years, we immediately hit it off. I had been working on Vietnamese commercial fishing boats for a few years based in southern Louisiana. The boats were owned by the recent wave of Vietnamese refugees who flooded into the familiar tropical environment after the war. Floating in calm seas out in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, I would hear tearful songs and tales from ex-paratroopers about losing brothers, sisters, parents, children, lovers, and beautiful Vietnam itself to the communists.
In Bayou country I lived on boats and in doublewide trailers, and like the rest of the Vietnamese refugees, I shopped at Wal-Mart and ate a lot of rice. When they arrived in Louisiana the refugees had no money (the money that they had was used to bribe their way out of Vietnam and into refugee camps in Thailand), few friends, and a mostly unfriendly and suspicious local population.
They did however have strong families, a strong work ethic, and the “Audacity of Hope.” Within a generation, with little or no knowledge of English, the Vietnamese had achieved dominance in the fishing industry there and their children were already achieving the top SAT scores in the state.
While I had been fishing my new black friend had been working as a prison psychologist in Missouri, and he was pursuing a higher degree in psychology. He was interested in my story, and after about an hour getting to know each other I asked him point blank why these Vietnamese refugees, with no money, friends, or knowledge of the language could be, within a generation, so successful. I also asked him why it was so difficult to convince young black men to abandon the Continue Reading »

First there was Jeremiah Wright. Is Emil Jones next? The press had a field day with Obama’s religious mentor and friend. But the story behind Obama’s political mentor also contains some disturbing elements.
Emil Jones, the Democratic leader of the Illinois State Senate is the man who is credited with propelling the little known state senator to the political heights in Washington.
Sphere: Related Content“You have the power to elect a US senator,” Obama told Emil Jones, Democratic leader of the Illinois state senate. Jones looked at the ambitious young man smiling before him and asked, teasingly: “Do you know anybody I could make a US senator?”According to Jones, Obama replied: “Me.” It was his first, audacious step in a spectacular rise from the murky political backwaters of Springfield, the Illinois capital.
[snip]
At one point during Obama’s 2003 Senate campaign, Jones set out to woo two African-American politicians miffed by Obama’s presumption and ambition. One of them, Rickey “Hollywood” Hendon, a state senator, had scoffed that Obama was so ambitious he would run for “king of the world” if the position were vacant. When Jones secured the two men’s support, Obama asked

This isn’t very surprising given all politicians like to make it appear that they play a bigger role in events than they actually do. But this is just outrageous and goes way too far:
After weeks of arduous negotiations, on April 6, 2006, a bipartisan group of senators burst out of the “President’s Room,” just off the Senate chamber, with a deal on new immigration policy.
As the half-dozen senators — including John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) — headed to announce their plan, they met Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who made a request common when Capitol Hill news conferences are in the offing: “Hey, guys, can I come along?”
And when Obama went before the microphones, he was generous with his list of senators to congratulate — a list that included himself.
“I want to cite Lindsey Graham, Sam Brownback, Mel Martinez, Ken Salazar, myself, Dick Durbin, Joe Lieberman . . . who’ve actually had to wake up early to try to hammer this stuff out,” he said.
To Senate staff members, who had been arriving for 7 a.m. negotiating sessions for weeks, it was a galling moment. Those morning sessions had attracted just three to four senators a side, Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) recalled, each deeply involved in the issue. Obama was not one of them.
But in a presidential contest involving three sitting senators, embellishment of legislative records may be an inevitability, Specter said with a shrug. (Via The Campaign Spot)
Obama ended up voting against the immigration bill anyway.
Given the candidate’s claim that he can “reach across the aisle” and change politics in America, it is a perfectly legitimate question to ask if he is so excited about bi-partisan agreements, why didn’t he participate in in those meetings involving the few pieces of legislation where Democrats and Republicans tried to get a bi-partisan bill passed?
I guess we’re supposed to trust him to change his tune once we elect him president.

It’s going to be a strange presidential election year, no question about it.
For one thing, major party presidential nominees almost always have middle names.
In the past, it’s been, “All the way with JFK.” I think that was used again with LBJ. We all knew Richard Nixon’s middle name was Milhous. He wasn’t ashamed. There was Gerald R. Ford, then James Earl Carter, better known as Jimmy. Then came Ronald Wilson Reagan before the first George Bush who had two middle names – Herbert Walker. Bill Clinton was actually William Jefferson Blythe Clinton. And then, of course, came George Bush – known around the world by the initial of his middle name, “W.”
But this year looks different.
For if Barack Obama should get the Democratic Party nod, he’s made it clear we can’t use his middle name.
All I can tell you is it starts with an “H.” Even his Republican opponent has said it’s just not appropriate for anyone to cite his middle name.
It is the middle name we dare not speak?
Isn’t this going to be unusual?
I’m not quite sure why Barack H. Obama is so sensitive about Continue Reading »

The Obamarama Campaign Express was roaring down a New Hampshire highway near Nashua when an aide spotted the sprawling No Holds Barred Sports Bar. “Let’s stop the bus,” she urged, “and do some random schmoozing.”
Obama and his entourage poured out of the bus and headed for the front door, over which hung a large sign: “HOME OF THE POLI-BEER: WHERE BOOZE, POLITICS AND SPORTS MIX IT UP!”
Inside the packed bar, the guys and gals were gathering for the Big Game to start. Before the game, however, there was an hour for political talk time. Their eyes widened in amazement when they saw Barack, bounding through the doorway with his secret service detail.
The bar had a big pit, with a huge crackling fireplace, where the patrons have their regular give and take. Obama was ready for some of that.
He started: “I stand for change. They said we set our sights too high in Iowa. They said now is not the time. I proved the cynics wrong in corn country and I’ll prove them wrong in the granite state. To show you I mean it, no speech, go at me. Our time for change has come.”
Guy number one-”Ok, Barack, you’re going for the power in the Big House, the big companies already have the power, how ya gonna make us little people powerful?”
Obama-”Stay tuned. One leap at a time. We are one people. Get me there first.”
Gal number one-”You say, CHANGE, well how are you going to cut the bloated military budget full of vast waste, fraud and abuse, when you’ve specifically said you’ll ‘expand and modernize the military?’ Why, it’s already half or more of the government’s operating budget, squeezing programs for children, health and all that. I’m an accountant and I know numbers.”
Obama-”Exactly. Our time for change has come. I’m going to change the old weapons with new weapons and the old soldiers with the new soldiers. That’s real change-at the grass roots.”
Guy number two-”You don’t seem to have any rough edges, Barack.”
Obama-”It’s all about the mood, dude.”
The crowd was getting agitated and the questions came faster and faster.
“Why are you for nuclear power with taxpayer guarantees?”
“Will you oppose Congress getting pay raises, pensions and health insurance until the American people get the same?”
“Do you favor repealing the anti-union nightmare-the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947?”
“How can you talk about change and take gobs of campaign money from the big corporate lawyers and bosses?”
Obama, smiling: “It’s ALL about the mood, dudes. All the rest are details you can look up on my website-obama_is_us.org. We are choosing hope over fear.”
Gal number two-”Ok, answer this one that probably isn’t on your website. When are you going to meet with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and campaign in the black ghettos-say Harlem or Watts?”
Obama-”Whoaa, give that tough lady a Poli-beer on me! We are one nation.”
Guy number three (with an Obama face mask)-”I’m the old Obama, remember me? I was for single-payer, full medicare for everyone. I was strongly for Palestinian rights and for replacing NAFTA and WTO, not for tweaking them. I was for taxing the super-rich and defending class actions. I was for capping credit-card and loan shark interest rates. What happened to me?”
Obama-”Well, didn’t I tell you that I stand for CHANGE?”
Gal number three-”You seem to be for everyone, but not everyone is for everyone. Some are against everyone. Tell me, are the big corporations, the greedy defense contractors, drug, oil and insurance companies, starting to quake in their boots at the thought that you are now the front-runner?”
Obama, lifting his chin-”Well, Ma’am, we haven’t ordered our seismometer yet.”
Oooohs and boos float around the pit. A few start drifting away.
Guy number four-”You’re one of those smart Haavard lawyers, Barack. You were a constitutional law teacher. You were against the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq. So, why aren’t you putting two and two together-impeachment of the war criminals in the White House followed by conviction in the Senate?”
Obama-”You don’t understand (testily), impeachment talk is just more of the same old Washington politics. I stand for change. No need to point fingers. We are one people.”
Gal number four-”Hello, Barack. I’m Hermaphrodite and I luv your blended politics of harmony.”
Obama-”Great! Then how about a quick dance around the bar before we have to leave,” he said, humming to the tune of the Battle Hymn of the Republic-”We are choosing unity over division, we’re sending a powerful message, that change is a coming to America, it is all about the mood, dude…”

From ABC News:
Inspiration is nice. But some folks seem to be getting out of hand.
It’s as if Tom Daschle descended from on high saying, “Be not afraid; for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people: for there is born to you this day in the city of Chicago a Savior, who is Barack the Democrat.”
Obama supporter Kathleen Geier writes that she’s “getting increasingly weirded out by some of Obama’s supporters. On listservs I’m on, some people who should know better – hard-bitten, not-so-young cynics, even – are gushing about Barack…
Describing various encounters with Obama supporters, she writes, “Excuse me, but this sounds more like a cult than a political campaign. The language used here is the language of evangelical Christianity – the Obama volunteers speak of ‘coming to Obama’ in the same way born-again Christians talk about ‘coming to Jesus.’…So I say, we should all get a grip, stop all this unseemly mooning over Barack, see him and the political landscape he is a part of in a cooler, clearer, and more realistic light, and get to work.”
Joe Klein, writing at Time, notes “something just a wee bit creepy about the mass messianism” he sees in Obama’s Super Tuesday speech.
“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for,” Obama said. “This time can be different because this campaign for the presidency of the United States of America is different. It’s different not because of me. It’s different because of you.”
Says Klein: “That is not just maddeningly vague but also disingenuous: the campaign is entirely about Obama and his ability to inspire. Rather than focusing on any specific issue or cause — other than an amorphous desire for change — the message is becoming dangerously self-referential. The Obama campaign all too often is about how wonderful the Continue Reading »

Last night I saw one of the most astonishing things to come my way in many years. I went to the Virginia Beach Obama rally.
How many people attended? I don’t have a number but I can give you an idea of the immensity and the character of that crowd. Waiting in line for nearly half an hour to get off the freeway in a double line that stretched back over a mile, I eventually got sight of the V.B. Convention Center and joked, “There might not be room in the parking lot when we get there.”
Then I took a better look. Already there was no room.
Through the trees, I saw movement and gasped. From high up on the freeway I could see a line many people wide stretch around from the front of the Center, down the street, around a corner, down another street, around another corner and then the line twisted back upon itself and went back the way that it came, only at one point it turned a final corner and went a couple of blocks to the Double Tree Hotel, turned again and disappeared…and this was over two and a half hours before the doors would even open!
Eventually we got off the freeway and found all parking access to Convention Center parking blocked by police cars and mounted police. The force was out in strength, steering a vast moving river of people. When we were able to locate a private parking area at a distance, we climbed out of the van as gusts of wind up to forty-miles-per-hour threw clouds of grit into our faces. It was cold, too.
All around us a mob of people emerged from cars parked on every so-far-unparked-upon little section of private space. Shocked by the cold and the wind, no one turned away and went home. Most of Continue Reading »

People and the Media are starting to catch on! Obama is nothing but hot air. They are starting to see through him like a glass window.
Article below:

NewsMax:
For the first time in nearly six weeks, Hillary Rodham Clinton leads Barack Obama, 49 percent to 42 percent in daily tracking polling conducted this past Sunday to Tuesday. Her last lead was in the Feb. 7-9 polling, which was coming off the heels of her strong showing on Super Tuesday.
While the two candidates have been in a statistical tie during most of those six weeks, Obama has led at certain times. His most recent lead was just over a week ago in the March 9-11 polling that showed him ahead 50 percent to 44 percent. The current polling comes as the Obama campaign has struggled in recent days with the publicity surrounding the contentious remarks made by Obama’s former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
THE NUMBERS:
Hillary Rodham Clinton, 49 percent
Barack Obama, 42 percent
The Gallup Poll is based on telephone interviews conducted March 16-18, and is part of an ongoing tracking poll in which Gallup interviews 1,000 new adults every day. These results are based on interviews with 1,209 Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters nationally and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

March 19, 2008—

Buried in his eloquent, highly praised speech on America’s racial divide, Sen. Barack Obama contradicted more than a year of denials and spin from him and his staff about his knowledge of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s controversial sermons.
Similarly, Obama also has only recently given a much fuller accounting of his relationship with indicted political fixer Antoin “Tony” Rezko, a longtime friend, who his campaign once described as just one of “thousands of donors.”
Until yesterday, Obama said the only thing controversial he knew about Rev. Wright was his stand on issues relating to Africa, abortion and gay marriage.
“I don’t think my church is actually particularly controversial,” Obama said at a community meeting in Nelsonville, Ohio, earlier this month.
“He has said some things that are considered Continue Reading »

Obama pastor’s theology: Destroy ‘the white enemy’
‘If God is not for us and against whites … we had better kill him’
Barack Obama’s suddenly radioactive pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, has defended himself against charges of anti-Americanism and racism by referring to his foundational philosophy, the “black liberation theology” of scholars such as James Cone, who regard Jesus Christ as a “black messiah” and blacks as “the chosen people” who will only accept a god who assists their aim of destroying the “white enemy.”
“If God is not for us and against white people,” writes Cone, “then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community.”
Wright has not talked to media since video segments of his sermons over the past decade surfaced last week – including one in 2003 in which he encouraged blacks to damn America in God’s name. But in a 2007 interview replayed on the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity and Colmes” show Friday, he repeatedly fended off Sean Hannity’s questions with an appeal to authority, asking if the host had read any of the books of Cone, professor at New York’s Union Theological Seminary, or Dwight Hopkins, professor at the University of Chicago’s Divinity School, notes the Asia Times columnist who writes under the pseudonym Spengler.”
Obama, who has spoken of his pastor of more than 20 years as his mentor and moral compass, “wants to talk about what Wright is, rather than what he says,” notes Spengler, by referring him as a “respected biblical scholar, and as someone who taught or lectured at seminaries across the country, from Union Theological Seminary to the University of Chicago.”
But Spengler says “that way lies apolitical quicksand.”
Cone, he points out, was the most prominent theologian in the “black liberation” school in the 1960s, teaching that Jesus Christ himself is black.

I now have reason to suspect that Barack Obama has a skill of proven value to a U.S. President: the ability to look straight into the camera and not tell the truth, without lying.
Step back in time: On May 7, 1999, a NATO air strike hit the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade killing three and wounding five. The attack came when most inside the building were asleep. The three persons killed were identified as journalists who had been working near the top of the building late into the night. Just above them, the embassy’s roof, a field of antennas, was destroyed.
In what gave every appearance of being a deeply heartfelt apology, President Clinton looked into the camera and called it all a mistake saying,
I send my regrets and my profound condolences to the leaders and the people of China.
The official explanations for the accident varied. Early on it was blamed on strike planners’ using outdated Michelin road maps that incorrectly located the Chinese Embassy as being in another building. (Bad maps always cause problems.) NATO claimed the real target was a military supply facility thought to be in the building housing the embassy. (With a bad map, anyone could make that mistake.)
For their part, the Chinese didn’t buy the explanation. Months later, the in-flight
